SP- Indonesia.com, Indonesia – The Chief of the Karimun Regency Military Command (Kasdim 0317/TBK), Major Inf. Istain Tamimi, attended the 198th Karimun Regency Anniversary Plenary Session held at the Sri Rong Building, Jalan Canggai Putri, Pamak Village, Tebing District, at 9:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB), along with approximately 200 invitees from the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda), Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD), and community leaders.
The Kasdim represented the Dandim 0317/TBK at this strategic forum, which served as a crucial momentum for consolidating regional development and reflecting on Karimun’s history since 1828.
The meeting, chaired by the Chairman of the Karimun Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD), Raja Rafiza, proceeded solemnly, beginning with a series of state protocol procedures and followed by remarks from the regional head. In his speech, Karimun Regent Ing H. Iskandarsyah emphasized the direction of future development, emphasizing economic strengthening, investment, and the quality of human resources.
Major Inf Istain Tamimi, on the sidelines of the event, reiterated the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI)’s commitment to supporting regional stability as the primary foundation of regional development.
“We, from the 0317/TBK Military District Command (Kodim), are ready to work together with the local government and all elements of society to maintain regional stability.
Security stability is key to ensuring optimal development and investment in Karimun,” he emphasized.
He added that Karimun’s strategic position along international shipping routes presents both significant opportunities and challenges that must be addressed together, particularly in terms of regional security and resilience.
The plenary session also reviewed development achievements, including Karimun’s 7.8 percent economic growth and the promotion of the Free Trade Zone (FTZ) to enhance regional competitiveness.
Furthermore, historical presentations by community leaders emphasized Karimun’s role as a significant region, from the era of the Malay Sultanate to its development as a strategic maritime border region.
The event concluded with an astakona (pillar) cutting ceremony and a group photo, signifying the spirit of togetherness among all stakeholders in building a more advanced Karimun.
The presence of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) at this plenary forum emphasized the active role of regional units not only in defense but also as strategic partners for the local government in maintaining stability and accelerating development in Karimun Regency.
