SP- Indonesia, Indonesia – Soldiers from the 0317/TBK Military District Command (Kodim 0317/TBK) continue to accelerate the construction of the Armco Bridge on the Mata Tiga River, Penarah Village, Belat District, Karimun Regency, on Tuesday (May 5, 2026).
This project is targeted to open vital access between villages that have previously relied on limited routes.
In the field, TNI personnel and local residents have been working since morning.
They are focused on installing the main Armco materials, which have now reached 40.5 percent progress.
This activity takes place amidst challenging terrain and limited access to material distribution.
The local Military Commander (Danramil) emphasized that accelerated construction is a priority because this bridge will connect the main route for residents.
“We continue to push for accelerated work. This bridge is greatly needed by the community as a link between villages and as an economic hub,” he said at the site.
The bridge, with a span of 9 meters and a river width of approximately 4 meters, is designed to serve the needs of 1,317 people. Until now, residents have had to take detours or rely on waterways that are not always safe, especially when river levels rise.
Although progress has shown significant progress, challenges in the field remain significant. Material distribution must be carried by boat, then manually carried to the work site. Furthermore, work activities are often halted during high tide, which can last up to four hours.
A worker on site described the situation:
“When the tide is high, we are forced to stop. But when it recedes, we immediately resume work,” he said.
The 0317/TBK Military District Command (Kodim) ensures that all stages of the work proceed according to plan, prioritizing safety and construction accuracy. Coordination with the community is also continuously strengthened to maintain the work rhythm in the field.
The presence of this bridge is expected to not only facilitate community mobility but also stimulate village economic growth. More open access is believed to facilitate the distribution of agricultural products and basic necessities.
To date, the situation at the construction site is reported to be safe and conducive, while work continues to be accelerated to achieve the target completion on time.
