SP-Indonesia.com, Singapore – The Somali seas have once again become a living hell. The 16 crew members of the tanker Honor 25, including Indonesians, are now on the verge of death after being ambushed by armed pirates.
It all started with a final voice note from the captain, Ashari Samadikun a message that has now become a “death alarm” for his family in Gowa, South Sulawesi.
In the recording, Ashari describes the dire situation: their ship was under attack, pirates boarded the deck, and guns were pointed at the crew.
Shortly after the message was sent, communication was cut off.
“His phone was still active, but he didn’t pick up. A few hours later, it was completely gone,” said his wife, Santi Sanaya (26), with a trembling voice.
The situation is getting more dire. The pirates aren’t just holding hostages they’re issuing a ransom ultimatum. If they didn’t comply, the threat of execution by shooting was issued.
The implication was clear, time was ticking, lives were at stake.
On board the ship, four Indonesians were also caught up in the terror Ashari Samadikun (captain), Adi Faizal (Bulukumba), Fiki Mutakin (Bogor), and Wahudinanto (Pemalang). The other crew members came from India, Myanmar, and Pakistan.
Santi admitted to receiving a video call from her husband. However, conditions on board were extremely unstable.
“If the pirates feel threatened, the crew’s safety is also at risk,” she said, holding back tears.
